Why “TIGASA”?

TIGASA stands for "Things I Give A Smile About" (or, depending on the day, "Things I Give A Sh*t About"). Either way, the message is clear:

We care. Deeply. Passionately. Creatively.

And it shows.

Whether it’s watching a kid beam in the spotlight for the first time, helping an audience member rediscover joy through song and story, or just making something new in a world already full of reruns, TIGASA is about the things worth doing. The things that make you smile. Or cry. Or stand up and cheer.

We believe original musicals matter. That it’s worth the work — the late nights, the script edits, the budget-stretching, the coffee-fueled rehearsals, the duct-taped set pieces, and the magic that somehow always comes together before opening night.

Because when you’re doing something, you truly give a smile about...

That’s when the real theatre happens.

We also believe that the message matters. What are we telling young people in the musicals that are the most popular? Behind the great musical arrangements, what is the message? Our belief is that what a person believes is possible for them is strongly influenced by what they hear and see. It’s the obvious, but often overlooked. Our message always lands on ‘What’s Right in the World.’ There’s enough about what’s not working, our focus is on what does work.

Welcome to TIGASA.

We make musicals about the things that matter — to us, and maybe to you too.
